ForFour stand at the SmartFest2011 ?
« on: June 02, 2011, 12:28:01 PM »

There have been suggestions and questions raised about us having a 'www.ForFourco.uk' stand at the SmartFest.

I was given the e-mail address of a lady, to get any info about the possibility of this, but so far I've not had any reply.
Word I've heard is that a stand has 'space' for 1.5 cars...or you can have a larger stand for 3 cars.

But...there are problems with this, namely :-
1/ whose car or car's get selected (from any that volunteer) without upsetting anyone else.  >:(
2/ whichever car/s are selected would be way across the other side of the 'patch' from where everyone
else would be grouped together after we had trouped in 'en convoy'. In other words they would be
on their own most of the time.   :'(
3/ in addition...we do not have any 'club' posters, 'club' flyers, 'club' badges, 'club' clothing, bits/bobs/bangles
etc to sell or give away.   :-[

Not really much of a stand then...especially when a large group of ForFours can and will be visible over in the Car Park...
and hopefully with us being in so early we'll be near the entrance, so everyone will have to walk by us on the way in.... and on the way out !  8)

Points 1/ and 2/ are also true of anyone entering into any of the events such as 'Best kept..' etc etc

Call me a party pooper if you will,  :o  but that's just my opinion...and we all have those....and I'm sure some of you will be posting yours
on here very shortly after I've posted this, criticizing me for mine.  >:(   Freedom of speech is such a wonderful thing.... ;D

I agree keep all the forfours together in one place, by having a stand you will already be spreading the low supply of forfours about.

Well you better get cracking on with making some ForFour.co.uk merchandise then... Next year you may have enough for a stand and I think most people on here will agree that your modified ForFour should be at the stand anyway as it shows what can be done to the hardest Smart to mod etc...

Just my opinion...  :D

If there was to be a stand with 3 cars, I think a completely standard car in pristine condition, a modified car, and a well presented Brabus would be the cars to be on the stand.

I'll put my hand up for my ForFour to stand at the stand. It's standard... apart from an underseat sub, and a Brodit clip for my iPod, which I can take off

For those of you that haven't seen it (which is nearly all of you), I have a genuine Smart ForFour banner that
is 3metres long by about a metre wide that I have had 'adapted' so that it can be strung between 2 poles !
(I've yet to get the poles...but I'll get them in time...plus base mounts.)

It has always been my intention to have this flying above a big group of all the ForFours we can get together
in the BMWorld Car Park....to say to everyone...'Here's the other Smart that everyone (including MB) seem to forget'.
I'd still like to do/have that this year.

And I know of 2 other peops who also have the same banner....albeit they fly vertically (if they had the poles for them !)
But fear not.....I'll see what I can do on the 'pole+base' front for them and keep the lucky individuals (and everyone else) posted.

I stilll think its best to keep all the forfours together and don't worry about the stand, we can almost have a stand away from everyone else by having the banners up.

ForFour Merchandise would be difficult to make and costly....I know that Wendy Milner (Incy) makes lots of merchandise so if you're really up for the idea of having a ForFour stand (perhaps for next year?) then I would ask her if she could make some things to sell (although don't you need some sort of license for this)?

ForFour 'specific' merchandise would require a licence...
The general concencus is that in respect of "www.forfour.co.uk" merchandise there wouldn't be a problem....
Although funding it would be   :o

I think a large gathering of forfours together in the carpark near the front with banners flying will draw enough attention ..

too much hassle to organise a stand that to be honest not many will go to unless they own a forfour
