Roof Bars - Keys. Your help is requested peops....

I've got a set/pair of genuine Smart roof bars, but regretably they came without any keys !
I've enquired through an MB Dealer re obtaining a spare set, but this has come up blank as
it appears they don't hold or cannot get any replacements.
The barrels or core of the locks are stamped '041'...
I was wondering if anyone else has a set of Smart ForFour roof bars.. possibly with a matching number key....
I don't hold much hope for that to be honest....
But any roof bar key would do if someone could possibly take into a key cutter and ask/see if the key banks
are available. If they are available then i could get the blanks myself, and perhaps have a 'master key' cut...
if one such as that exists...just so I can use these bars.
It would be a shame to throw these bars away...especially as I'd like to use it for a roof box or my bike at some stage.

I'm also wondering if Thule keys would fit ? Am going to have a look at my local Halfrauds to see if
they have any Thule roof bars and if they have similar looking locks and/or keys that may fit. You never know...

Hmmmm - are you sure MB just aren't fobbing you off because they can't be a*sd?

We got a set for our zafira that came with roof bars fitted but no keys!

I did post exactly what you have posted before on the old site and got a set from someone but that didn't work.

The lock should be easy to "pick" as it is only designed to keep the plastic cover on that protects the fixings to stop theft

Sorry you are struggling though :(

I thought it would be easy

Is there another company name written on the bars anywhere?

Surely smart would source these in from someone else instead of making the product themselves.

Sorry G, my keys are 034. So there must be a way of getting a set if you've got the bars? Saying that, you have to undo the bars from the car with an allen key, you might be able to retro fit some locks?
