For example, I have found that my car was equiped, initially, with folding roof top.

A 'lost in translation' description...
What it should have translated to was the 'roof blind' for the panoramic roof.

I thought so, but, when you translate mot-a-mot (french for word-by-word), it really means a roof which can be folded.
So, thanks for pointing out the right translation!

Go always with the SA-Code Numbers (official from Mercedes/Smart PriceList) and not with the crap translations.

They are all the same translatiom crap cause all the same data source.
Best example: R230.474 with SA-Code 853 for telephone is been always translated as 'Soundsystem Midline'.

Thats why i tell you to look only at the SA-Code and then look for the description in the PriceList from MB/Smart if you want to be sure.

Take a look and compare Code 853 at this car. Then you understand.

You are giving an example for your specific AMG...

The link I have given is specific for finding the Technical Data Sheet
(or the original equipment) that was factory fitted to a 454,
and the factory fit Options List that is displayed shows everything in
gramatically perfect English with no mis-translations, as I checked
it against ALL the VIN numbers for the Smart cars that I have.

Admittedly the overall 'Catalog' for individual parts does hold more
than it's fair share of mis-translations, but they are all easily decipherable.

Yes its the same, no matter if Smart or Mercedes or AMG.

Just notice that all this sites can have translations failures, so if you have concerns about a specific SA-Code, compare the (number code) with the official price list - if you do not have access to Daimler.

EPC is outcontinued, like Xentry or others offline tools too. For newer versions/data you will need Daimler Login (see my screenshots). Doesnt matter for old 454 - just for info.
