Funny problem with passenger front window
« on: April 03, 2016, 05:02:45 PM »

So this problem I'm having is that the window won't go down. It will go up tho. I've stripped the door down today changed the motor same thing so I've taken the door harness off, plugged in to drivers side and it works. Switches all work, tried jumping from the plug on the passengers side switch to the drivers side to see if it works and it does. I'm stumped to what the problem is. Googled it and the only problem they can suggest is a relay on the way out but to me every window works apart from passengers front. Any suggestions what it could be before I end up taking all the dash off and tracing wires
Thanks in advance

If; as you say; you have tried it using the drivers switch/loom/relay
and it works ok, then it is either a wiring issue, or the relay sticking.

I would checkout the wiring using a meter to see if you have a possible
break or loose connection. I would suggest the weakest point could be
where the loom 'bridges' bewteen the 'A' pillar and the door.

I've taken the door harness off completely it actually starts where the kick panel is inside the foot well so the bend in the door with the rubber round it  that works. I've checked the wires between the harness that's all good. And also checked the wires between the connector in the foot well to the switch plug that's all good. So frustrating

I haven't tried it. Do you know where the window control module is? I have a feeling it's that and would like to test it

Funny thing is a had the same problem, ONLY when i locked the rear windows.
With the window button flashing red from dash, My windows play a funny game of going up and back down with one press.

Normally all windows are fine, Just when i lock the rears it going bat crap crazy.
