Insurance on vinyl wrap

Got my renewal quote from Churchill without the vinyl wrap.
Got a quote from MSM with wrap but just nowhere near the expected Churchill price.
Declared the wrap and Churchill quote increased by £63 but still cheaper than MSM
by £50 :o

You have a vinyl wrap?

Do we know about this??

Have we seen pics??

I'm not sure how the wrap works... Its not a performance mod and its blatantly cheaper than a paint job so not sure why they would add a premium!!

Given that your car colour is the trid colour, do you really have to declare it??

I believe this is the the Dogs car...



When I was looking at quotes earlier this year one of the mods listed on a sites check list was any non OEM sticker, decal or vinyl.

Ah - ok..... I guess if you crash you would have to get panel, spray it to match original colour and then pay again for re-wrap!!

It was a not too expensive job that is far from perfect.  Need to have front wing redone since some numpty drove into the side of it and scraped the vinyl off.  Picture is correct except I've sold the number plate and I'm now on BL54DOG for BLackDOG.

I personally wouldn't have told them about the vinyl wrap as it doesn't increase the performance or cost of the car.
When they hear "vinyl", they probably think it's a big advert for something and you'll drive round towns a lot or the car may be targeted by vandals.

The guy just looked at it on his sheet of extras and had to ask me what a vinyl wrap
actually was, (Churchill won't cover any performance enhancements), and asked if it
was less than £250 or between £250 & £1000. The reason I've declared it is
because some silly moo drove into my front wing and the hassle we are going through
because they can't fix it in a normal garage. Luckily she admitted responsibility and her
insurance company rolled over on it. Nearly 2 months later it's still not fixed and it's
only a silly bit of vinyl that's been affected. The quote is still a lot cheaper than MSM
so I'm happy to declare it.
