If I'd known they did black ones when I got mine, I woulda waited.  Someone did well to snap that up!

Silver is the common colour, black is the exclusive colour.

Bargin?  Not sure.

Yes, it looked like a fine example, but over the last few months we have seen a lot for sale, and I dont think many have actualy sold (as appossed to being advertised) at a lot more than that.

In my opinion, that is a realisitic price for a generaly good condition Brabus at them moment.

Obviously, if you wanted one tommorrow, you would have to pay through the nose or wait around until one came up.  However, if you said you were going to spend between 4 & 5 k, if you waited for a few months, one would come up.

If you own one, that may or may not be a slightly depressing reality, depending on when you bought it & how much you paid.

I've seen a few sell on eBay recently for more than that (not loads more I grant you) but £5.5k for low miles decent BRAB is a good target ... Anything under and it's a bargain (in my eyes) but then I paid £9k for mine 3 years ago ;)

I used to have a rule of thumb, that unless a car was really special, it would halve its value every three years.

Regardless of that, having watched the e bay prices with interest on here, I would say that sub four was a bargin.  If I sold at five, I would think I had done allright (not planning on selling).

Of course a lot depends on the car.  Unless it is really rough it is easy to paint a pretty picture on flea bay.  It is not until you have owned it for a while that you really know whether it is good, lemon, or that shady grey area inbetween.

While I would sell on ebay, as it guarrenttees a sale and I would expect more than a "trade in" price, there is a lot of dross on flea bay, and the really nice ones will land up on a specialist garage forecourt where you are paying that bit more, both for the privilage of buying from a garage, and you know (or at least expect) that you are buying a decent motor with some kind of comeback if it goes wrong.

As you yourself are aware BigDunc, there come's a time when the cambelt has to
be changed....circa 50K (or is it 60K ?), and that can cost up to £500 'all-in', so any
Brab's that come up for sale with about that mileage should be cheaper by at least that
amount than one's that have either had it done, or have low enough mileage for it not
to be taken into account.  Lower mileage cars always command a better price..obviously.
