Meet starts at 09:30 let's see how many ForFour's
we can manage to muster for this annual event.
(We managed 6 last year...if I remember correctly.)
If the weather hold's out then it's not a bad venue.
It's a great museum to look around, and the home cooked
food fayre in the restaurant isn't badly priced, considering.
Anyway, weather permitting, I'll be going for sure.....
so who else is up for this meet....or maybe even 'tubing'
it down the M3 from London to the event ?
We could even do our own ForFour 'grand entrance'
by meeting up beforehand...as we did last year ?
Ticket prices/details:-
The Simply Smart Event is held on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November.
If you are arriving in and displaying a Smart car tickets are £10 per adult
and £5 per child. If just visiting the event then tickets are Beaulieu the
general attraction tickets.
The Simply Smart tickets can be bought at www.beaulieushop.co.uk
or will remain the same price on the day.

Hi Everyone,
Simply Smart at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu is fast approaching with this year's event happening on Sunday 9th November 2014.
Bring your Smart car for display - Ticket prices are £10.00 per adult and £5.00 per child for those arriving in a Smart Car (under 5's are free) allowing access to the museum and all of the attractions at Beaulieu. All models of Smart Car welcome and there will be a prize for the Best Smart as voted by the public in the 'People's Choice Award'.

Are we meeting up and gonna form a 'tube of (ForFour) Smarties' ?
Why a TUBE ? Cos there are no allocated parking spaces at the venue...
so it would be nice to get the ForFours together, rather than spread out
higglety pigglety amongst the other 'common' Smarts.
Meet time :- 09:45am (depart from meet point at 10:15am)
Where :- Lyndhurst...
As you come off the A35 (Southampton Road) and turn onto
the B3056 (Beaulieu Road) you cross over a cattle grid....
there are parking spaces immediately on the left & right side of the road.
(Have a look on Google maps....then zoom in and you will see
via Google Earth camera pictures what and where I mean).
Oh, and if anyone coming want's one of the unpainted black FK 'replica'
ABS Brabus grills (a steal at £16), please PM me and I'll bring them down.

Hi Everyone,
Less than a week to go until Simply Smart 2014! Tickets are available at www.beaulieushop.co.uk (http://www.beaulieushop.co.uk) and any Smart car model is welcome to attend!
There will be the usual People's Choice Award where you can vote for the best Smart car on display. We will also be holding a brief remembrance ceremony on the hard standing arena at 11am.

Indeedy, a good day. Well worth getting up at stupid o'clock, scraping the ice of the Brab', turning on the heated seat (:D) and driving up from South Devon! As has been said, a good turnout of forfours, especially Brabs. The weather was superb and even quite mild later on. So all in all thumbs up. ;)

Really good pics and looks like a lot of brabs there!
In all there were 14 ForFour's....10 of which were Brabus !
(2 of the ForFour's were non-forum members...but they've now joined up)
I could add my own pics..but they're much the same as JJ n brabs.
On a more personal note.......
The one crying shame of this event, and indeed of any of the Smart
events held this year, is that every organiser avoided any reference to
the fact that 2014 was the 10th anniversary of the ForFour !
I for one have found that very hard to understand or accept.

Good point , it's such a shame the the Manufacturers are not as proud of their creation as it's owners are ....
I've had mine for all of those 10 years and still don't feel any urge to change it .

I cheekily sent a PM to Al Young (Head 'honcho' of The Smart Club) re
the 10th anniversary issue of the ForFour, and got the following reply:-
"Hi and many thanks for the message - I'm delighted to say we'll be running a 10th Anniversary feature on the ForFour in the forthcoming issue of 4site due out at year end. It's amazing how little publicity this 10th Anniversary has had :-)

The 2015 Simply Smart event is confirmed for Sunday 8th November. Thank you to those that have given feedback for a date change for future years; we have chosen to keep the event on Remembrance Sunday for next year and will continue with the short Remembrance Service, a feature that seemed to be appreciated by all.
I must apologise for the ForFour not featuring in the cavalcade. We had an overwhelming number of voting forms back and to be in the top ten you needed quite a large number of votes. There was a ForFour in the top 10 that was supposed to then feature in the cavalcade and I'm sorry that due to an error we thought that one with those votes had left early.
Thank you for the support from the ForFour's, like I said it was a brilliant turn out from you and we hope to see you in 2015!

It is well known fact that there is a large (die hard!) part of the Smart
fraternity who will ONLY vote for the Crossblade or ForTwo or Roadster.
Far be it from me to make an issue of it, but the ForFour in question was
not the tidiest or the cleanest example of those present, however....
the owners also have a Roadster . I'm sure you can see my point.
Might I therefore suggest that a change be made to the voting system
for next years event; and indeed at every Smart event; and that change
to be that voting should be by the model/type ie., Crossblades,
ForTwos, Roadsters, and ForFour.....for the best of each.
An overall winner being optional, not necessarily mandatory.
By doing so, owner/attendee's of each group would feel involved and
not sidelined as most owners of ForFours feel we are.
After all, irrespective of the number of wheel bolts/nuts..they're ALL Smarts.

A very good point CrazyG and agree fully that there should be a class for each model this is how it works for other car events I attend and works well, hopefully something can be done so this can happen?

BeaulieuEvents - On behalf of the forfour community I would very much like to thank you so much for all your efforts in making this a wonderful day out :)
TBH i was more than warmed by the attention and buzz around the forfours yet again and the lack of votes is no issue for me.
I am not disheartened in the least.
Thanks again and please pass on our thanks to those who delivered the service - I very much enjoyed it and it was a very personal and memorable service.
