I have since received a secret information. The Smart Times 2014, take place well either in England or Denmark. England would in my view full Super :)
What do you say about this rumor?
If it were so, I hope that enough people in Lucerne vote for England ;D

if England does get it it'll possibly be within the M25 area (London), don't mind if Denmark gets it. either way it'll be 3 coming instead of 2 if i can make it to whichever destination wins!

If they did have SmartTimes in England then it would be in place of the
Smart Festival that is held every year around September/October.
And yes...I do hope it will come to England one day soon...

Smart Times has been going since 2006....
2006, 2007, and 2008 it was held in Austria.
2009 it was held in Stuttgart, Germany.
2010 it was held once again in Zell-am-See and Kaprun in Austria.
2011 it was held in Riccione in Italy.
2012 it was held in Antwerppen, Belgium.
2013 it is to be held in Lucerne, switzerland .

I am going on the adventure so if the option for England is mentioned, I am definitely voting for you guys. ;)

I think you will find that the dcision has already been made...but Smart will give everyone
the 'illusion' that the vote at the event will be what decides.
For instance, Lucerne was always going to win out for this year......why ? Because it is a market
that Smart have not got a foot/toe hold in, whereas Germany is already catered for and is a good
market for Smart. And they hope the 'eco-tistical' Swiss will buy the electric Smart.
So , I would lay 'odds on' that Denmark will be the chosen venue for Smart Times 2015.....
even if everyone at the 2013 event votes for England.

Agreed, CrazyG. Lots of money in Denmark too. Plus smart already have a market (and an event) here as well...
Although I'd hasten to add that the whole brooklands set up means there's less effort on Smart's part. It's an ideal sorted venue.
Plus there's a hotel on site for them to all stay on. I think smart UK would be all too happy to drop the festival in order to have Smart Times.
Would it happen in the future? We can only wait and see. They've got to get around all the countries some time... Plus, the Electric Car market is expanding here, even Luton has started to have Electric parking spaces installed. I've noticed 4 new ones in the last week.

when my uncle lived in denmark for a year he wanted my city coupe as it was LHD, but there was a problem in importing and registering it. you HAD to put what the car was worth and then the tax was some stupid percentage ON the cars value.
for a new car it will only be possible for a rich person to afford. for the working class its cheap used cars

That's interesting, and something for me to look into before I move to Denmark with my Brab ;)

confirmed thats the case - its to stop people circumventing danish car taxes by importing cars from the rest of the EU....from memory i think its about 55-65% of the cost of the used car in denmark - as used cars go for serious bucks in dk, you'll pay way more than the car is worth, most folks seemed to reckon around 200% of the value of the car to import into dk.
I think you'll also need to return the car to standard manufacturers spec
for reference the 5 series beamer i had while i was out there was €96k (company paid not me) when at the time £25k would have bought it for you in the u.k.
Just to add insult to injury, if you don't complete it all within two weeks of residence, they nick you.......
my advice if you want to move a brabus to denmark and you're copenhagen way - move to malmo (in sweden) and travel over the bridge each day.
of course - popping over for smart times is ok... ;)

In Belgium, before Switzerland was announced, OTV overheard the head of smart telling someone that the next 3 years are already decided, Switzerland 2013, Portugal 2014, Denmark 2015.
