forfour petrol fuel filter

I was at Mercedes pricing some service bits for mine and the lad who was serving me said that the ForFour pertol has no fuel filter ! He has a 451 and had a 450 before that so, he knows his stuff !
Just thought I'd let you know.

But he hasn't owned a ForFour...so until this can be confirmed by someone who has worked on a petrol ForFour it is conjecture.

Crazy, I found out the other week there is no fuel filter and if there is, it is in the fuel pump.  I was in Mitsi the other week and I was going thru the fuel system on the CZT which is the same, and we could not find one, so it must be in the pump ?

I was there looking at the parts catalogue and there is a diesel fuel filter but no petrol !

I believe its a "lifetime" filter and integrated into the tank.

Apologies to all for doubting you......but glad we have now got to the bottom of it, so to speak.
So it's either built into the pump or the fuel tank then, eh ?  Not in the fuel line anywhere else ?

Best stop running my BRAB on reserve - the shell garage is out of my way in rush hour traffic though ;)

If there is no fuel filter, than what's that black canister behind the airfilter with fuel line stuck in and out of it (it's where the diesel filter is on CDI forfours)? (fuel evaporation control filter or something along those lines).

it could be the carbon canister?!
i havent had to service mine yet, although it has started counting down, so it will be serviced when i get back of my holiday

I must agree with Alex. I've spotted that black casing filter-like a long time ago...and assumed it's the filter that needs to be changed every 20.000 km or so  ::)
