The confirmed date for this event is Saturday 4th September 08:30 - 17:00hrs
at MercedesBenzWorld, Weybridge Surrey, organised by TheSmartClub.
This is for all Smart cars.
As usual there will be a couple of competitions (Most Modified, Best Kept,etc), and there will
be the usual Trade stands/display, and representation by TheSmartClub who organise the event.
There will also be a test drive area for people to try out the 451 ForTwo in petrol diesel and...
possibly the electric version! There should be food available, albeit burgers/hotdogs and the like,
though visitors will be given vouchers of adequate value to cover the cost of a meal from the vendors.
Further updates and information will be posted when it becomes available.

Looks like the registration for the 2010 Smart Festival has opened a little earlier than advertised (well by a day). Might be an idea to wait until the 1st though just in case.
How about some of our more esteemed forum members getting their Forfour's into the Most Modified Competition ;) or lets at least get a few into the Best Kept. How about a nice mint Brabus making an appearance.

It's a free event and you don't have to register if you don't want to, they do it so they can get numbers and send you a load of stuff that goes straight in the bin (if you are sensible). I'll be there trading as SmartMods so come over and say hi and more importantly, buy something.

Mate, you should be in the 44 under most modified. Couldn't understand why you didn't make that category last year?

thanks...but didnt feel mine was modified enough to be in there last year....
espec compared to that hill climb stripped out ForTwo with MR2 lump in it....
Best 44 I thought was the all metallic green one....and worthy of entering.
Still don't feel mine's 'modified/different' enough to enter....
so much more I want to do...I have bits for it...just not enough time to do all the stuff....
And....I want to change bonnet....the Concept scoop was a good iidea at the time...
cost me enough...thought others wud like/want...but nah...
I want to change it.something symetrical....similar thoughts as you Neil...
Just that any other 'design' invloves a lot more work ducting air to air box or to
induction/cone filter.....short of moving battery to boot....and don't want to go that route.
Oh well.....Sept is still a ways off.......maybe time.....

Could I correct this on behalf of thesmartclub ltd, that we are NOT organising thesmartfestival this year. The organisation for all events held at MBW Brooklands has been taken in house by Daimler UK and therefore everything is down to them, including registrations, traders etc. The event is still in association with thesmartclub but we have no control over any aspect this year, other than within our own marquee etc. Hope this clarifies matters.
I'll be there, working in thesmartclub marquee. Andrew's BRABUS will be there too, i'm sure ;)

Ah yes....'their' T-shirts..... copied from a design that I organised and submitted, and that was refused
because I did it without asking 'permission' first ! ! >:( I even had 'testersl' made...on Fruit of the Loom T's....
And at a price that was half of what they're asking their followers to pay ! :o

Way ta go...say it/tell it like it is.... missing off the ForFour indeed...(ok, & the Roadster)...
Typical...bet it was done/designed by someone who doesn't even know what they are or has seen/noticed them....
a dis-interested motorist as in.... "it 's a car and gets me from A to B..what it is...am I bothered.".
(Bet they drive a Proton or something equally obscure....LOL)

Well, if you take the word literally, they oppose us by taking an opposite stance.
We are here to talk about Forfours and to help the owners, they have moved well away from that and on to more pressing matters such as holidays, babies etc.

And a good day WAS had by all...I think I can say that without fear of being corrected.
The sun shone....the sky was clear....it was a glorious day in fact. Wish as usual there had been more traders though.
As for the food selection..the fish n chips were smashing...(and I'm not a lover of fish !) Can't comment on the rest...
But most importantly it was good to meet EVERYONE who managed to make it, and renew aquaintances, from no matter
which club/site/whatever. Somehow I managed not to see/meet up with LadyV+Tossy, even though I hung around their
cars at the end of the show. And I did look out for everyone......
I think we should push/press for a seperate parking zone for ForFour's.....there were quite a few...but spread out too thin
and far apart. It shouldn't take much to keep a space for 30 or so in that place....and we are in the minority.
And once again...not one ForFour got anywhere in the competitions ! And for those who have ventured or not inside the
MB museum...the one Smart missing is the ForFour ?? Are they embarressed or ashamed...I think not. But they should be.
Anyway.....thanks to all/everyone for being there and trying to raise the profile of the ForFour......my thoughts are ...that
if we can't get a ForFour specific area next year, lets jointly try and organise/arrange a rendezvous point and turn up on masse
so that we have to be grouped together.....yes ? (Tesco's car park at Brooklands perhaps ?)

it is a shame that the forfour wasn't inside the museum, like I said to you 'G' maybe its because it had such a short life or its a Mitsubishi,
who knows. Cracking day I have to say, sun was out and not a drop of rain and LOADS of smarts.
It's a shame I couldn't demo my iPod kit, bloody iPod locked up as I parked up >:( and it started working after I got on to the M25 >:(
As for the forfours meeting up, how about meeting the day before and stay in a hotel, that way we can all arrive together rather than waiting
for others and getting late on the day if that makes sense.
As for mine, I'm surprised ! 438 miles on ONE tank of fuel and I've still got 1/8th of a tank left, I had 1/2 a tank as I stopped at Leicester Forest
services...I got to Brooklands with 3/4 of a tank.

Good to meet you all, thanks to those that came over to find me, I couldn't really venture too far from the stand as I was required to answer some odd and technical questions.

Finally today I've seen that 1,420 Smarts made it to the Festival (info from destinationsmart)...
and over 4,000 people !
And apologies for an error saying there is not ForFour in the museum.....I've been told that there's
the Brabus Conccpt rally car in there.... One day I'll even take the time to go have a real look around it.
And the Brooklands Museum as well. But it'll more than likely be when the sun pokes it's head out again.
So that'll be next year then...LOL...
