3 questions
« on: June 14, 2015, 09:41:04 PM »

i have 3 questions the first one is a simple one

1) has anyone fitted an LED bulb to the FRONT interior light, if so a link to place where to bought it. iv seen these on amazon but unsure if they are the correct ones.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00WG9429I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2JXPKRWWYX9GE

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00K69GIA6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AGJ2TI2R2YFK8

2) iv had my R/F fog light out recently for some paint work, upon refitting i noticed this connector, what is it for? its tapes up near the washer bottle.

im assuming its for the headlamp washer pump (where fitted). could anyone with headlamp power wash please confirm this for me.

3) when i removed my front interior light another connector unused connector caught my eye. there are 3/4 pins i can see which are in the connector but they are not clearly visible in the picture

also could kate get me the data card for my car to see what it has and what its pre-wired for if i PM you my chassis number. i am intrigued as to what my car is pre-wired for. i know its got the wiring for the rear speakers (which i have now fitted), dash pods (again, now fitted) and heated seats (still debating whether or not to fit them)

Answers:-
1/ I think you will find that bulb you put the 1st link up for
is way to long at 39mm....the standard bulb is aprox 25mm.
The second link/bulb might be ok. Not sure TBH.
And you may find that to get the best light from it that you
may end up painting the inside of the rotating light control
'ring' in silver...to reflect the light of the uppermost LED's.

2/ You assumed correctly...it's for headlight washers (where fitted)

3/ It's to connect to the auto lights/auto wipers sensor (where fitted)
that sits on the windscreen behind the mirror.

still works perfectly - its a direct swap

doubt i'll be stripping that bit of the car down (or did you mean the headlamp washer connector?)

A second opinion is being requested JJ....
I thought at first that it might be for the foglights, but as mr.singh
has a Passion then it already has foglamps and they would be connected.

That only leaves the possibility that it could be for the different pump
that is required for the headlamp washers. The pump is different as it has
this extra function that requires it to be powerful enough to apply pressure
to the water to raise the spray heads up and out of the panelling.
But I could be wrong though.....

I have foglights and that extra connector as well, it has to be for the headlight washer pump, it's in the right location and there's nothing else there anyway.

As for the extra plug in the front light that might be for the opening sunroof or the microphone for the OEM handsfree which would also be mounted in a modified version of the lights bezel (small grille at the front)

idealy both but seeing as the connector behind the foglight is easier to where it is going/connecting to...

This extra plug near the front interior light is for the connection between the sunroof motor and/or the light/rain sensor on the front windscreen.

long time since I've used my headlight washers....
but from memory I seem to recollect that they
only work when the headlights are on.

i know that they will work only when the headlights are switched on. im also sure they wont work where the daytime running feature is switched on but the headlight switch is in the off position.
