I've been given a set of 15" genuine Forfour 4 spoke wheels I believe they are movelines. Are they alright to put on a Brabus thinking of using them as winter wheels

From what I understand: look carefully at balancing weights clearing the caliper. I would check every wheel before letting the car down off the jack.

I also suggest you check with your insurer unless you are certain those wheels were available as an option on the Brabus (it potentially being a deviation from the car's standard specification and, therefore, a 'modification' in their eyes).

Speedo variation would depend on tyre size. You can find numerous conversion charts on the interweb to calculate the nearest rolling diameter of 15 inch tyres compared with the 17inch tyres fitted

i personally think 16" would be smallest to go just because of looks (i.e. colt czt wheels on the brabus)
15" may be too narrow so would look at spacers and lowering
the space saver fits so other forfour wheels should be fine
(the space saver doesn't fit over my wilwood calipers and my rear wheels won't go on the front)

Smart 15" wheels most definitely would be too narrow for normal driving,
and spacers or lowering would make little if any difference to the level
of grip or handling in normal weather conditions and would quite frankly
be so completely different to the point of being woefully inadequate.
TBH, it would take very little to spin up 15" wheels under normal driving
conditions in a 454 Brabus, no matter if you had spacers or if it were
lowered even more than it is as standard.
However, you are considering these 15" for winter...under the assumption
that at some time in the near future the weather where you live in the
southern part of the UK (below Manchester) will no longer be as mild as it
is or has been over the last 10 years.
Most 'enthusiasts' are aware, rallye car use skinnier wheels and tyres on
loose snow and ice as the specially grooved and spiked tyres 'cut' through
that better than any normal wider road tyres. But you are not rallying your
Brabus, so I tend to agree with JJ and say that 16" Colt CZT wheels would
be the smallest I would fit...to balance the power to grip ratio. And for winter
conditions of consistant snow with some ice I would have them shod with
either 'full house' winter tyres, or....if you live in the 'warmer' southern part
of the UK, use 'all season' tyres from the likes of Michelin.
(Michelin tyres are however not that cheap)

Thinking about I think I will stay with 17 or go down to 16 minimum. I will need to sort something soon as one of my wheels is losing air where it is buckled.

Moveline are the (4 spoke) 16” versions of the Strokeline (4 spoke) 15" wheels
195mm vs 205mm isn’t going to create a huge issue with handling plus a 205 fits on the 6.5” wide 16” rim (vs the 6” wide 15” rim) so you could for 205s quite easily I’d say.
Widening the track and lowering the c of g also reduces the lean on the tyre but then the sidewall is highe so it would be a v small negative effect all round but not noticeable unless at the edge of adhesion anyway.
I personally wouldn’t bother but keep an eye out for a nice spare set on here :)
Also, if it’s losing air then it will be because you have a slightly deformed edge to the rim (very common)
Take the wheel off and use a soapy water solution and a paint brush to find where the leak is worst, mark the rim with some tape, deflate the tyre and then use a rubber camping mallet to flatten

9582djk I have the last set of genuine Smart brand new boxed 16" (4 spoke) wheels...
They're labelled 'Moveline'...available for sale for exactly what they cost me....
