your looking at a car in disguise. you wont be able to make out the full features of the finished product. you never know under all the camouflage it might look good. you carnt blame mercedes for the look. blame the designers!

It would look nicer if it didn't have the proportions of a Fiat Panda and held a stance closer to the original ForFour, instead of a wardrobe on wheels. Now it looks just like everything else, why buy this?

My thoughts exactly, I originally got a forfour as there was nothing even close to it - and there hasn't been since either. Considering it was based on a colt nobody knows as its that different - they did it right, took the chassis and engine and completely changed everything else instead of just cloning something else and slapping a different badge on (And probably charging more).

I mean......Panoramic roof, lounge seats, foldable rear seats, adjustable rear bench, plastic panels. All things no small car did at the time and some still don't! The plastic panels are genius - dont dent, easy to swap/replace yet no one else has tried it? must be cheaper too with the increasing cost of metals.

From the look of that picture the best thing  to do with the " new "  forfour is to leave the camouflage on ,

All this is going towards making the original ( ours )  a classic ,

I'm inclined to agree. If you watch the camouflage being peeled off the Twingo http://networkedblogs.com/TMyT9 I fear the two cars will be about as dissimilar as the Peugeot 107 and the Toyota Aygo.

No thanks.

I don't like the fugly pig faced front end they have been doing on recent things and I think this looks to have that shape.

If the twingo and this are close to identical, I can guess which will sell better.

I like the twingo but I don't like these new smart front ends I've been seeing.

Where does the radiator go if the engines in the back? Same issue getting cold air to an intercooler without using ridiculously long piping. Does that rule out a hot hatch version?

Even if they do a 'hot' version it'll still be fugly ;)

I just hope mine lasts now coz I wouldn't know what to replace it with as all the current ones get higher and higher mileage :(

I think it's just impossible to comment on mule cars - they just don't look like the final product.

As I've posted elsewhere.....the ForTwo and the ForFour will share
the same powerplant and transmission, so whichever way you look
at it...even if Renaultsport or Brabus get to 'play' with the engine...
the ForTwo being smaller and lighter will be the faster of the 2, though
maybe it won't handle as well as the larger ForTwo+2...oops ForFour.
Who knows.

And why that fugly front end that is so noticable...?
To meet the new requirements for pedestrian impact/crash testing.
Though why anyone would want to step out in front of a moving
vehicle is beyond me ! Maybe they're stunned mid-stride with
disbelief at how ugly the new Twingo/ForFour is....LOL.

Wait a minute, the Twingo is very nice! This new forfour however made our original ones into instant classics :D.
