What makes our smart really Smart? 😉
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:36:31 AM »

So after nearly one month after my purchase of my Pulse, to this day it gets me surprised with his options.I was thinking that everyone writes the things they discovered in their car.I think there is not such a topic anywhere so why not.It would make a life easier for most of us hehe

I.e. The other day it was raining and I turned on the wipers (naturally duhh) but when I put the car in reverse back wiper automatically turned on.I know it's not cold fusion science ,but it's nice to have that feature without any mods 😉

I sort of understand/get what you mean...

The automatic wipe of the rear window when you select reverse is
about the only thing that was standard fitment across the
entire ForFour range of models.  It is not an option or a mod.

There was a massive list of parts/bits/items available as options that
were either fitted at the factory, or a dealer fit option, or available to
buy and fit later. The higher specification of the model you ordered
(Pure, Pulse, Passion, or Brabus) the less options that were available
or became available as they were standard fit for that particular model.
So each ForFour can and will be a bit different to another.

I believe this is also standard for the car though I must admit, I've not seen the case where 1 press for locking the car switches on the lights. Certainly have seen it for a quick double press.

Heh, not on the new W453 ForFour... the doors are metal I believe. No more panel swapping like the 454 can.

If you lock the car after you've had the lights on*, it will switch on the lights for 10seconds or so. That's the coming home feature.

If you have the feature coded in, DRL is activated/deactivated by pulling on the light stalk (essentially flashing all the lights) while pressing lock/unlock on the key fob.

Likewise for the drivelock, you press LOCK on the dashboard and on the key fob and after reaching ~10mph the doors lock automatically.

I have tried that option for DRL's but it didn't get the thing to work!? So you basically you pull the light lever to you  all the way and push the button on key knob? Is it at the same time or ?

you may have to take it to mercedes for them to activate the daytime running feature, just keep this in mind that you dip beam and rear lights will be on all the time like volvos.

Dipped is the low beam, or the short beam, the one you have on when there's incoming traffic. Hi beam is the full beam, main driving lights.

Pull and while the lights are all on press lock. It should BEEP to let you know it worked. If it doesn't then the feature is not coded in, and it needs to go to merceds. After coding, you can activate it/deactivate it at any time as described.

Auto windows are only a feature on the cars that had the comfort pack, which includes 4 electric windows, electric mirrors and central arm-rest.
