The 1.5 petrol has a bit more 'low down grunt' a.k.a. torque than
the 1.3 petrol, although they are more or less similar in hp terms,
so if your route or driving uses that 'grunt' then that could be where
yours would be getting better economy than a 1.3.
Personally, I'd ignore nearly every figure displayed on the dash
in the way of mpg. Instead my choice would be buy/use an OBDII
Bluetooth adapter and the Torque app on a mobile phone...OR...
why not wait till the fuel gauge flashes at 5L, then fill it up,
keep the fuel receipt safe, zero the tripmeter on the dash speedo display
and then see what mileage it says when the 5L flashes once again.
Then take the amount of fuel you got (off the fuel receipt), and
divide the mileage by that figure...et voila...a rough figure of your mpg.
