What mods should I do first?
« on: May 09, 2013, 10:16:37 AM »

When I eventually get a Brabus I was wondering what I should get done first. I know I would like brighter lights or should I say more white lights and have heard people fitting the K&N. On my Roadster I fitted HIDS and K&N along with other things. Is there a type of bulb I should get? I was just wondering what other bits I could modify. I do like those bonnet scoops too. I have heard that the standard Monos are just as bad as the Roadster ones so may change the alloys :)

Uprated panel for long life or If you like sound definitely go for a induction kit
Look for a car with headlight washers if you want HiDs
Remap?
aftermarket alloys won't look as good as the mono blocks though

I agree with mozilla...
Find a Brab with headlamp washers....required for HID's/MoT..
Induction kit......I would suggest the one JJ (Problemchild) has
over all the others.....
Remap....Tune4Performance
Better fuel pump...
Larger turbo down pipe...
Bigger I/C.....get orig one up-sized in depth/width/height.
(Would need to take front off to see how much bigger you can go)
Nowt wrong with some aftermarket wheels.....yes the Monoblocks
do suit the car, but if you have to keep having them refurbed/buckles
bashed out, then find an alternative set that you'll be happy to stick
with.

induction kit (whoooooosh chatterchatterchatter)

then just enjoy it for a bit.

hids are a good one (no you don't need headlamp washers - if you have them they must work)

wider rear monos on the front

thats all you will need for at least a year as its soooooo much fun

IMHO the first mod you need is a Brabus keying!  ;)

And has wider wheels all round, induction kit, better seats, lower miles, recent service, genuine smart carbon effect interior just to name a few. :-) oh and asking a lower price.

I just saw it for sale Strikes that is. Why have the original seats been replaced? I will be honest after looking around I do want to source a lower mileage example. I don;t understand why they are all fairly high.

Colt seats offer more lateral support and quite a few people have done it (there are pics of this mod)

The model is now 8years old. 80k miles would be classed as average mileage.

Do the heated seats function work on the colt set?

If your Smart already has/had heated seats, then yes.
The plug in connectors under the seat are the same.

Colt seats offer more lateral support and quite a few people have done it (there are pics of this mod)

One 'addition' that you have to remember when you fit these is that if you have the factory
fit subwoofer, then you have to 'space up' under the front floor mountings with a large thick
washer or the seat jams.
Of note...you sit higher than the Smart seat... even at it's lowest setting.
All said n done, it is a far more supportive seat, with much more lateral grip.

The link that I previously put up of the example on ebay requires a service. The dealer said that it has f.s.h the cambelt was changed at its last service at 67630 miles. They are open to offers, is the satnav worth having on these cars? If the car has satnav does that mean it has the better speakers?

Cheers
