Post by: R_1000 on February 10, 2020, 08:24:54 PM
Hi Everyone

2005 SMART FORFOUR 1.5 brabus

I am trying to source service parts for my car before I give the car in for remap with tune4performance.

ITG Air Filter
Spark plugs
5w40 Castrol Fully Synthetic oil
Oil filter
Cabin filter

The sparks plugs are coming up to 100 GBP !!!!! Is this correct.

Many thanks

Kind regards

When you select your vehicle model as 1.5 BRABUS the cost is 100 pounds for 4 plugs.

Thank you for the confirmation Problemchild. I thought that was mighty expensive plugs. What a relief.

NGK iridium plugs are more expensive than regular copper core plugs it’s true but they can last much longer and hold better performance longer too.

get yourself down to your local Mercedes dealer for parts. it cost me around £20 for an oil filter and a pollen filter this year.

oil I buy when I find castrol 5w40 on offer at Halfords or my local Tesco extra.

Thank you All

Today I purchased the following...

5Ltr Shell Helix Ultra Pure Plus 5W40

Hella Hengst Oil Filter (H 74mm, Outer Dia 81.5mm, Seal Dia 64mm, Thread Size M20*1.5mm)

4* Denso Iridium Tough (Spanner Size 16, 0.4mm Dia)

Sump Plug & Copper Washer (Thread Size M14 * 1.5mm, Thread Length 24mm, Overall Length 33mm, Hex Head 13mm)

Hengst Cabin Filter (Height 40mm, Length 179mm, Width 202.5mm)

ITG Pro Performance Panel Filter - WB224 (Measurement 247 * 116)

Wheel bolts cover sets with (B) imprint.

Next.... Get some cash together for wishbones and droplinks

Plan is to do all the work at once and straight to Tune4performance for a mapping.

Thanking you all kindly

Glad to see you're sticking to Tune4performance for the remap...
Dynodaze have never had the same 'success' with remaping the
Brabus, and Danny has even told Rob (of S2smarts) that he
can't get anywhere near the output/figures of Tony at Tune4.

Over the years I've seen many graphs from various remappers
that have 'tackled' a Brabus and given unbelievable figures,
figures that have been proved to be 'unbelievable' when they
were run up to verify them on Tony's dyno. Result's say it all.

Thank you CrazyG. I am definitely going to tune4performance.

I need to look into changing the coolant too. Just need to figure out how. Due to lack of funds I am going to be doing all the service myself with my buddy.

I'm already loving the motor. Once I have serviced and mapped her..... She is going to be something special to me.

I have now received the ELM327. Tried it today and seems to work fine. I set up 3 dials... Boost.... Coolant temperature and oil temperature. I'm using the Torque Pro obd2 + Car version. I'm waiting for the extension cable then I can have the unit permanently connected with an on and off switch. Thank you CrazyG for that idea.

Thank you all.
