Title: mitsu dealers
Post by: mr singh on October 10, 2010, 07:07:21 PM
now some of you might be thinking this topic is far from Smart but bare with me on this one !

now, if i walk in to a Mitsubishi dealer and say i want some bits for a 1.1 Colt 2005 MY, will they ask for a chassis number?
i ask cos I'm thinking if there are any Ralliart parts for the 2005 MY Colt i could fit them to my forfour.

I'm not sure either. Ralliart are a tuning company that sell parts through the Mitsubishi dealers, so I'm hoping that if there are any tuning parts for the 1.1 Colt i could fit them to my forfour

They would more than likely say they need your reg or chassis number to ensure the parts fit (I believe this is correct).

Although the forfour and Colt share a platform the engineering differs quite a lot. IIRC peeps have tried Mitsi dealers and failed, something like the exhaust is different.

I don't think there is much that will fit from the Colt to the forfour.

i was thinking of engine parts like air filter, spark plugs (to see if they are any better than standard ones), and any uprated parts they sell.
not too bothered about the exhaust (yet)

Anythings worth a go. You won;t know till you try either.
The 'worst' that can happen is it may not fit and possibly you will have wasted your money...
But then depending on what it is you could either sell it on ebay or on the Colt owners website  ;D

AFAIK (cosmin knows better) 44 shares a lot of components with the Colt VI. So IMHO you can't go wrong but instead find a better price :)

I stumbled across a mitsubishi dealers parts site and some parts were ok, oil filter £3.xx
and others were a rip off, rear wheel bearing £170 !
But on the plus side they ALL came with 2 years warranty, EVEN the oil filter !
