Nice, will give it a go. How accurate do you find the speedo?

I have often wondered how good the iPhone GPS is.  It's not very accurate at finding your location (the blue circle is often quite large).

It's a shame, cos my Tomtom is pretty accurate on location, and speed agrees with those road signs that tell you how fast you're going.

lolol.  I've had it show the spot pretty accurate, but the blue circle quite big so it's not quite sure you're where it says.

xWindshield does say it's for night use, and it has a non-mirrored view for daytime use.

they all have a HUD mode to flip the screen :)

my sat nav (tomtom) fell off the other day and landed on the dash facing up and i could make out the directions (albeit mirrored) so it may be ok.

Torque has a mirrored HUD mode which is great as it doesn't have to rely on your phones GPS for speed and has much more functionality (revs/MPG etc). Only problem is I think is that it might be a little dark to use as actual augmented reality. I am going to test the bright blue VW theme to see how it works out.

Well, I used it last night and it matched up well with my speedo. 30mph was on the button. I only got up to 40mph, and recorded my average speed. it can also record your distance travelled and time taken for a trip - useful!

It was still visible when in traffic with streetlights and other cars infront of me, but only slightly. It's almost like the reflection you get when you put a piece of paper on your dash in daytime. I think you could see it ok in the day tbh, in most conditions.

It's a bit of fun really, not a serious tool. Got confused once, said I was doing 24mph when stationary, but sorted out soon enough.

I may post pics later if I can.
