I think you'll find they are Continentals really.

funny you should say that. one of the lads when i was working at jaguar leeds said that its possibly one of the big bran companies making the 'cheaper' tyres in there spare time as he put it.

If they are like that they sound like a bargain. Where are you getting the alloys from?

I run Toyo Proxies on my forfour and wouldn't have anything else they are awesome.

The grip and wear is amazing best of both worlds.

I had Toyo Proxes 4's on my CDi and they scared the provebial out of me !
Lacked grip when 'moving on'...car went ahead on bends rather than round them !
Brakes locked the wheels (lack of tyre grip), and the steering lacked real 'feel'.

The Hankook Ventus's I've got now are completely the opposite.
So much so that I 'threw' it around the damp race track at the Smart France Spring
Meet back in May. My seat lost grip on me before the tyres lost grip on the track !

For 'normal' road use, longevity, grip, and comfort, Toyo T1-R's or the 'factory fit'
Bridgestone Turanza's.

I have certainly never experienced any under steer with Toyo's.
Nor have ever heard of anyone till now.

I take it your suspension setup is not OEM?.

Toyo proxes were the tyre of choice on the beefier micras, which aren't very different in feel to the forfour.

I guess it depends on the car, because an unmodded 160SR micra is only pushing about 110bhp but the handling is very similar to the forfour, so surprised you had trouble with them.

What make of tyres....??

Riken Maystorm 2 b2

Riken is owned by Michelin.
http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/car-tyres/RIKEN/

Reasonable reviews... Apart from the guy who 'drifts' his Corsa...
http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/car-tyres/RIKEN/MAYSTORM,2,B2/

I'm sure as with most, you'll get bad reviews, but they will do us.

CrazyG had trouble with toyo proxes 4, not the t-r which are more common and well reviewed.

Think I will follow u G and try the hancooks out. Looking at the tread pattern they do look like the proxes4 though? Any thoughts?

think i went for the not sporty toyos when i upgraded my wheels on my saxo..... they lasted for ever but had poor grip.

my friend had the T1-Rs on his pug306hdi and they provided great grip but wore fast

To clarify re the Toyo's I had on my car...

Tyres:- Toyo Proxes 4's...Wheels 17"x7".
At the time, the suspension was standard factory fitment.
Word is they are for heavier cars than the ForFour...aka Fiesta/Focus.

I've had Toyo T1-R's before this, and not had any problems.
