Child door locks
« on: June 06, 2013, 03:48:31 PM »

Hi all.

I want to activate the child safety lock, so one of the back doors can't be opened from the inside by children, only from the outside.

On every other car I've had, it has a toggle that you unscrew and flip over on the door frame.  I can't find any such thing on the forfour.  I've tried searching the forum as well to no avail.  Hoping a parent with a forfour knows what to do here?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look in your user guide! Open the rear door, about halfway down on the edge of the door is a slot. Pop in the end of your key and turn until vertical. Then remove the key. Hey presto!

I have never seen that at all......

cars used to have a toggle until (i think) it was too easy to accidentally catch it and disable it so now its always a slot or something that needs turning with the end of the key.

TBH, its quite obvious when you look at the end of the door ;) haha

It isn't really obvious and I can't find it, hence my asking.

Most cars with more than two owners don't have all the manuals with them.  Mine doesn't have any, I can't find useful ones online apart from advertising brochures in the past, so that's why this site is handy.  On a side note, if someone knows where I can buy the manuals, just to have with the car, that would be nice.  Cant find them on ebay.

Thanks for the tip, just going to look for this slot now!

If you go to www.forfour.co.uk then all the manuals in all languages are there in PDF on the front page...
