Selling my mint low-mileage Brabus ...
« on: June 02, 2012, 10:41:00 AM »

Hi guys,

I am almost decided and want to change vehicle ... but I am struggling to decide on how to sell it and how much to sell it for ...

In your opinion, what would be the most effective way ? I'm not a big fan of putting it on ebay with 99p price ....  :-X

What do you think I could sell it for ? Because all the cars on the market are around 4-5k£, but have way more miles ... and things to do (belt...)

Please see the description of my car below:
Quote
Silver, Nov 2005 / 55 reg car, with less than 31kmiles at the moment.
I bought it in August 2010 (@19kmiles) from a 50 year old man who is passionnate about Smarts (runs a small internet shop with smart accessories).
There is the Radio 6 upgrade (double din headunit + 6speakers + 1subwoofer). I've added an Aux cable (from Smartmods).

I've got the car's full service history, with a service every year (less than 6kmiles). The belt has been changed by MB in Feb 2011 @ 24kmiles.
Front tyres : Pzero neros -  around 6000miles - good for a lot of miles
Rear tyres : Yoko Sdrives - around 3000miles - only changed them as the old ones were still the original tyres and zere starting to crack !
Last service done @29500miles by MB.
Front Pads+Discs have been changed at 29600miles - EBC brand.
New wipers last month  :P
Taxed until Feb or March 2013 (don't remember)
MOT until 8/02/2013

Also, the only bad point of any Brabus will be the wheels .... I've bought a set of Monoblock A's, and had them powdercoated in anthracite. Stronger wheels that will not corrode ! The ride is also a little less harsh with these wheels than with the standard wheels.

I believe this is the lowest mileage Brabus on the market ... and there is nothing to do on it ... and obviously the car is in excellent condition.

Obviously, if you know anyone interested ...  ;)

Admins, I hope the post is in the right section ... sorry if not !

Perhaps an advert in the for sale section on here or on pistonheads to start with? These are the people who know the cars.

Also, maybe some pictures?

Realistically, how much do you want for it?

Here are a few pictures :

I am hoping to get more than 6k£ for it ... as there's nothing to fault the car... what do you think ?

It's certainly low mileage, most seem to be 60-80k miles, of course they are a few years old now.

Personally I'd be surprised if you couldn't get £6,500 or do for it with that history and low miles. However it's obvious from
Auto trader etc that no-one want's to buy these right now. Some seem to sit there for weeks or months.

The market is what it is, so in truth a car is only worth what someone will pay for it. If you have the time and patience to wait an indefinite amount of time I'd say put it up for what you want and wait til someone comes along who knows what it's worth.

I'd be tempted myself to swap, if I hadn't done so much to personalise mine already, not to mention the money I've spent on fixing it. Besides I'm quite attached to it now ;)

Stick it on this forum's for sale board for now. At least anyone seeing it there can have a look and see your posts here, and see your not just any old person selling on a car they didn't care about.

Not wishing to be a killjoy...or to see you leaving our little group I'd agree with funky
BUT....realistically I'd price it at £6k and expect to be 'beaten down' to £5.8k or there abouts.

It really depends on how much or how soon you want to move it on as well.
So.....if the need is great then price it to go at £5.5k, otherwise hold your price.

As has aleady been said...anyone who knows these or is bothered to check
them out will know and be prepared to pay a premium for a good one.

Good luck with the sale, i purchased mine recently, 2006, 44k on the clock, as part of the deal it got 6 months tax, 12 months MOT, a new tyre, cam-belt change & an oil & filter change, i got 3 months warranty & got the car delivered to me as i was 200 miles away! FSH, 3 owner & the wheel's were refurbed.
I paid a little under £5.5K from a dealer.
I hope that helps in pricing the car?!

Good luck, it's not a seller's market at the moment especially for discontinued cars with powerful engines, the tax is a bit high.
It wasn't that long ago that Smeep couldn't even sell his 2005 Brabus 47k with FSH and powdercoated alloys even when he offered it out at £4000.

Thanks for your advice guys.
I've lowered the price a bit, I'm in no rush anyway, so I'll see what happens.
