Title: Brabus/Colt sears comfort?
Post by: Redraptor141 on September 03, 2019, 05:29:41 PM
Evening all,

Having a nosey around the local scrapyard today and I came across a Colt CZT Convertible. All the interior is stick intact. My front seats aren't too bad but I sit in them for over 1000 a week at the moment and the drivers bolster is collapsing and the seat pan is ripped

The wrecker said I can have both the front seats for £100 and the whole interior for £300. They look almost new as the Colt only had 40K on it when it came in

I know the front seats will just bolt in to the smart and tbh I’m not bothered about  everything else and I doubt it would fit anyway.

My question is how comfy are these leather “sports” seats over time? And also is £100 worth it? I’ve looked at a few on eBay and they are cheap compared to on there. But the guy is giving me my usual mates rates

Another member of this forum gimba (whose 454 was sadly wrecked by some other pillock if I recall) did put leather colt seats in the 454.

The thread is here: https://www.forfour.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3641.msg65796#msg65796

Should be some interesting info there if you didn't already find it.

PS. FWIW I reckon 100 quid is well worth it

why on earth are you questioning if they are worth it... £100 for 2 leather Colt seats, that's £50 per seat. if I were you id have snapped them up there and then!

Do not bother with the rest of the interior....
none of he other bits will fit anyway.

Oh and if you have the Premium Soundpack (with underseat subwoofer
under the passenger side), do check that the bottom of the seat clears
the subwoofer before bolting it down hard into place. If it does touch
then as per my info in the thread on Colt seats into a 454 you will need
some very thick washers (about 1/4") under the front mounting points
from the floor to get the clearance.

PS...remember to disconnect the battery (earth side first) for 5 mins
BEFORE disconnecting the electrical plug connectors under the seats...
or there is a the chance that the airbag/s will deploy !  Once seats
have been connected and fitted/bolted down, reconnect the battery
(positive side first..earth last)...then adjust the clock/s.
