Aftermarket steering wheel adapter
« on: July 22, 2021, 05:32:52 PM »

Hi guys,
Anyone got any experience with aftermarket steering wheel adapters?

Bought a connects 2 adapter (CTSMC002.2) but my Sony Head unit won't power on with this connected. Without it, the unit works. Tried swapping live and ignition and all the usual stuff but no joy.

Reason I ask here is because the online seller won't return the item and keeps saying the Smart ForFour had a pinout change in 2006. However I checked the manufacturer website and it says it's compatible with my car. I'm also not aware of any pinout changes on 454.

I have a 1.5 Passion petrol, that came with Smart Radio 6. Currently adding a Sony Head unit with a quadlock adapter.

Any help appreciated.

the forfour 454 was made from 2003-2005 and there were the odd ones registered in 2006 and 2007 in the UK because dealers still had them in stock. where your seller has gotten there information from i would like to know, because as far as im aware, the radio connections remained the same through out as there were only in essence 2 radios available, the radio 5 and radio 6 (the navigation units used the same connections as the radio 6 with the additional connections for the GPS antenna)

i would suggest that you look through the posts relating to the link harness as im sure there is mention that there is one that will work with after market radios
