Title: Couple of issues...
Post by: minimayhem on September 03, 2017, 08:59:38 PM
Hey all,

Got a couple of problems coming up that I'm looking for advice for.

First issue is my engine is bouncing when taking off from a stand-still.  It's not loads but you can feel there is some movement in the engine bay; I was thinking engine mounts but say a couple of posts about a stabilisation bar on the engine - do all cars have that?  Is that more likely to be the issue?

Second problem is my one-touch-up on the drivers window has stopped working.  If I flick the button to make it go up the window will go up for about 2 seconds and then stop.  On the other windows a flick will only make the window go up for a fraction of a second, so its almost like it starts to use the one-touch-up mode thing and then stops for some reason.  If I hold the button up the window will rise without any issue at all and no resitence is evident.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks :)

sounds like the bottom stabiliser bar (there is a guide)

my one touch window does this from time to time. then it just starts working again. sometimes just pushing down on the top of the window glass seems to get it working again.

i think the mechanisms are getting a bit tired and the resistance is now right on the limit for the anti trap

thanks for the response.  stabilizer bar costs about 40 squids so going to replace that first; the other mounts cost about 200 squids all in so will first replace the bar and if there is any engine movement will replace the other two as well for good measure, hopefully not though.

might try getting access to the window mechanism to see if it can be greased up a wee bit to see if that fixes it!

That will need the removal of the outer door skin.
(Why not the inner door 'card' ? Well that can only be unbolted and
removed after the outer skin has been taken off.)
