Wangswongs Brabus video of acceleration
« on: January 19, 2016, 06:22:36 PM »

Evening all

Took a quick vid of the current acceleration of the Brab.
As you can see at around 40 seconds, when I actually gun it, I need to build the boost before it takes off. Full acceleration at around 80% throttle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3alAncCidw

Not brilliant and shows how much a map is needed still.

Ohh, and she's black again -

How much boost are you running and when are you getting full boost?

Video is to blurry to see anything. :D

Are you using stock injectors until mapped? Or have you got the Sti pinks in?

Did a quick video myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvetbdgcF2g
Wedged my (huge) phone in the steering wheel and it aligns just right to see the speedo  ;D

loving this

can we set some criteria though??

so....

30mph start and 3rd gear? or drop to 2nd? or just whatever suits?

and i think we need to see rpm too

also, lets make sure we are doing this on private closed roads  8)

its strange seeing the vids as they all look slow (haha) but i guess its much faster in the actual seat.

and we need to know when the power goes down ;)

so i have
Gk2 30-60 @ 3secs (2nd gear??) vid time pedal goes down at 3secs and 60 reached at 6secs
WW 30-60 @ 7secs (3rd gear??) vid time: pedal goes down at 39secs and 60 reached at 46secs
JJ   30-60 @ 3secs (2nd gear) vid time: pedal goes down at 2secs and 60 reached at 5secs

was gonna measure to 80 but WW pulls out just before. must have been a yellow flag from a marshall

greg - your time is quicker that actually stated as you are actually about 2.5 secs and you get to 60 just as the clock ticks over to 6secs

-2 degrees out so was not a good option really - haha

and sorry for the quality - needed 2 hands on the wheel to minimise the excessive torque steer ;)

Tried the sti ones and it wouldnt run.
Boost wise, not the foggiest. Does feel flat as a fart though.
Mine was a 2nd gear pull and goes to show  how slow shes running without a remap.
So damn jealous of your acceleration vids!

your boost seems to come on very late in the rev range

i remember driving musmarts brab after his hybrid turbo was fitted and it was lacking aggressive power but built speed very quickly and subtly once rolling

Imagine with the boost control solenoid, fuel pressure regulator, sti injectors in, water methanol and a good remap....... damn this upcoming marriage!
The boost is none existent atm :( Maybe I can try and save enough to get at least a map on her thats better than it is now and add the other parts at a later date.
