40 or 45, can't remember
OEM wheels are 48 I think?

7js with 30 would look good I think, although the fronts would still stick out more than the rears

Ok guys...I think we've long gone off topic here from Wangswong's original post.
But that's not to say the subject of the wheels can't be carried over to a new post in
'Wheels, Brakes & Suspension' though. Ok.....

Decided to buy some wrap.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120987402361?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

4 no. so will come 48" x 60". Hoping it's enough for the rear spoiler, mirrors, lower skirts and front grille (not measured up yet!) Few weeks to turn up so can get some templates made up for when it arrives!
Also going to order some fly eye for the roof.
Shall keep you all posted on how it looks.

Right

Few questions to get prepped for the vinyl.

Do I need anything special to coat the car for a decent key or is the backing ok? (I's the 3m stuff)

The rear spoiler. Can I separate the top lip from the rest or is it that special / nightmare sticky tape that CrazyG has mentioned? No idea if the vinyl will show the detail as well with 1 full wrap over it.

The mirrors. The covers just pull off and if so, which way so I don't snap any lugs.

Front lip. I see Problemchild that, when you did yours, you took the fog lights out. Is it really necessary to do so cos it looks like there's enough room to tuck it around with it in place.

Looking to do the rear lip too if there's enough vinyl left. Looking forward to tinkering!

My advice - practice on something off the car :)

The wing mirror covers don't really just pull off.

The rear spoiler needs to be wrapped in situ.

The fog lights only have 2 x hex and it gives you more room.

Don't be scared of putting some good heat into the vinyl using a hair dryer.

Make sure you have some sharp blades

Prep wise - warm soapy water should be fine. Dry thoroughly.

Good luck

Cheers for the swift reply!

So the mirrors, I guess the only way to do it is to wrap and tuck it into the gaps?

They pop off but clips from the inside - I think I pulled mine off but I don't recommend it.

Think there is a guide.

Good mirrors and you can see the exterior clip by the hinge.

Quick update. The vinyl's arrived in the UK. Horray for HMRC and its sh#@ty import tax! Almost cost the same as the vinyl. Still, can't wait to start wrapping!

On another note, anyone know a good upholstery repairer in the north east? 13 years driving and I get my 1st tab burn in the brab... Drivers seat cloth on the back rest. Not a happy bunny but my own fault really.

I would have thought that you should now be getting your 'kicks' from the Brab
which should replace the one you get from the other stuff, so dare I suggest
that perhaps you try to refrain from 'the upholstery killers' until you are out of
the car ?

Don't take that the wrong way...I used to be 'a slave to the habit' till I finally
managed to 'break free' some years back, so I'm not unsympathetic to anyone
who hasn't yet managed to kick it, ok.

Anyway, good luck with the vinyl.....and hope you get the seat fixed ok.

Tried to stop but after stopping for 7 months and then walking in on a dead mother in law a few months ago, I started again. I've got no sympathy for myself either but its happened and I'm asking for advice on a fix.

I would leave it and live with it for now :(

I found some good vids about wrapping on YouTube but then couldn't find this post.....

Hang on........

Shows how you put it on, pull off, heat, smooth etc
