My smart is a drain on my finances and those with 450s having engine rebuilds would also agree ;)

It's all about whole life cost really (and for green people, that includes manufacturing and disposal)

I do like individual rare cars though and hence the forfour!

Which is surely a key decision maker for those of us with a Brabus forfour?  Certainly made my mind for me.

The only high cost thing I did was my brakes @£500.... Everything else is a few pounds here and there ;)

Biggest expense is fuel on the BRAB - £60 / 200miles (all town driving)

The Brab is reliable as i am sure by now we would know of any big issues of which there are none.Fuels £6 a gallon which doesn't help still that's 20mpg ouch,3years ago same usage would cost £40,i guess on the open road you would get nearer 300miles?
The BMW is the superior machine its more advanced and with considerable more R&D involved in designing it.The BMW has to compete against the best premium cars in the world.
Smart is a quirky alternative to the more common offering in the supermini class.
The Brab was nearly £18k new but the Brab bits did over inflate the cost, the BMW is twice the price. They are both very different animals. The BMW could probably keep up with a Brab even on the track but its twice the price and not going to be as much fun in the right conditions.

I think your final post there just about wraps up the differences (and the postings on this
subject) between the 2 cars.

As the saying goes..."To each their own".
