Caravan pulling ?

A quick query. Can't seem to find anything on the search . Can a brabus pull a small caravan? Was looking at one of the small fold flat two birth ones for next year. They weigh around 750kg . Any ideas ?

G'day there,
Why not, a Smart is just like any other car of the same weight.  I think over a curtain weight the caravan has to be braked, but I am sure you will get more useful reactions from the people in the room than what I can give you.

Well, the Brabus may be able to pull a caravan re: the weight but you'll have to remove or butcher the rear diffuser to fit a tow bar, plus the rear of the car is quite low.  :(

Yes it Is quite low, hadn't really thought of that. I'll ask at the smart dealers tomorrow to see if it's possible

looking at the table (unbraked 500kg and braked 750kg across the entire range) i would assume that the "-" for the BRAB is the same as all the other items in the book meaning its not an option (because the rear apron doesn't allow the fitting of one)

so i would say yes you can within those permissible limits BUT as has been said, you need to butcher your £250+ rear apron :)

Rather than check with a dealer (who doesn't understand anything but 'Merc-speak')
I'd ask lilsmartie as I think she had a towbar fitted at one time to her Gen1
CDi that had the full Brabus body kit (incl. rear lower apron).
Or you could try n call her at Smart-Sport (get tele from the website)

Won't fit with rear valance. I didn't have it fitted on my cdi and Paul's Brabus had it removed so the towbars fitted properly.

The Brab rear valance is more for looks than functionality TBH.
And it's simple enough to remove it. It's mainly held on by/with
'tension clips' that spread and bite when pushed into place.
Circlip pliers can be used to remove them, and then the apron
can be carefully 'peeled' off. (Other than those clips it uses thin
3M double sided tape).

Once removed and stored someplace safe you can then fit a towbar.
(And electrics of course) Preferable to get a towbar with a removable
'hook n ball'....looks much neater removed when not towing.
