my new forfour
« on: November 21, 2015, 08:23:34 PM »

as most of you know my old 1.1 was sold earlier this week, it has been replaced by a forfour 1.5 SB3

some may have guessed that i had bought the one which was back on ebay after only 3 months, and i have to say im chuffed to bits with it. managed to get it for less than the asking price and the original price ;D

not sure if i should polish it now or leave it till next year :-\

Excellent to hear, it looked really good in the advertisements. Some photographs maybe? :)

I think wait. As the owner of a white car (yours is white as I recall?), I've got to accept is is going to get dirty and show up very quickly and I guess it will be the same for you. Once winter is out of the way, then clean it. ;)

I beg to differ....
My preference has always been towards white cars after having
owned quite a few, as well as many other coloured vehicles.

Black shows the dirt the quickest...
Dark colours also show up the dirt too...
Paler colours get away with the 'first' sign of dirt as there are
many shades of the lighter colours around.

But white gets away with it best, as there are many many tones
of white through to the creamy sort of colour it will get to when
it is really dirty.
TBH, with white you can only see the 'first levels' of dirt when you
get 'up close n personal' to the vehicle.

So having said that....wash it whenever you like mr singh  ;)

initial comparisons with my 1.1 is its smoother and 'quieter' when the engine is running, but the ride is harder but we will see if my mum complains.

pulls like a train, proper test will be when i go to leamington spa next weekend for 3 days. im down for training in leamington spa and staying in shakespear-ville

couple of little niggles to sort out, the front interior light isnt working, the drivers tread plate has come off and appears to me dented in a couple of places, not downwards like someone kicked them with heels getting in, but upwards like it was done after they had come off, and try and find where it was serviced as it didnt come with a service book, but the car was in rochdale before this owner... but its bad 5 owners before myself (ill be the 6th)

Pictures please. Silver is a great colour to hide dirt. In India there is lots of mud and dirt and cars get dirty quickly. What is by far the most popular colour- white. Best place to open a car wash!

the 'DJ' my wifes uncle works for has a fleet of white cars which are used for weddings, and cheufering people around, whilst we were there he went to Amritsar airport to pick up a fairly well known Pakistani singer... who he didnt recognize.

as for the colour combo it is white panels and silver trid, although from a distance the car looks all white
