Miles per tank
« on: March 16, 2014, 04:40:26 PM »

Hi lads, I am a newbie on here and recently got myself a forfour brabus, it seems to drink a bit, anyone can tell me on average what they can get out of a full tank around town driving?

No way!!

I did some very slow driving over 2 journeys and got close but this was the best I could do.....

Not far off a full tank and 50mpg

What's your est mpg at 450 miles/tank (acknowledging that a tank to me could be different to you)

I think if you lot can get that high mileage out of a tank, it maybe my injectors are tired

If all you do is town driving / short trips, your mileage will be poor. It's normal.
I average about 360 but don't do may short trips.

So you got 50mpg
my last five full tanks pretty much all gave me 450 miles each. I calculate thst to be around 48mpg but my trip computer will only get up to about 46ish. My long term trip computer states 44 but that's with a bit of short trips chucked in.

1 gal = 4.55 L
I fill up ~42L = 9.25 gals
450/9.25 = 48.6 mpg

Near my workplace they only have 95 petrol but it hasnt shown to effect it over the last few months. Maybe the cold wintry air naturally lowers the mixtures volatility

For the spec and performance of the brabus I think anything over 40mpg is amazing.
Unless you mpg is much lower than this, provided your regular driving isnt gridlock traffic then it sounds ok......

It has to be remembered that the Brabus forfour is an out and out performance car, NOT an economy car. Anyone who buys one for that reason is likely to be disappointed and should not criticise the car for being what it is. If your first requirement is economy then you'd be better off looking elsewhere.  ;)

Looking elsewhere  ! !
They're in the right place, and the right car, just maybe not the right model
if economy was to be the first requirement. The 1.3 would suit admirably,
and it's no slouch either.
