Wow, they pull up the spray (and other crap on the road) don't they?  Loads of run off from the fields so it looks like I have been rallying from behind now!

The "dirty bum" syndrome is well documented, its a bugbear am afraid, it has to do with the aerodynamics of the rear of the car which try to ensure that the tail end stays planted, they are very light cars, with a lot of their weight shifted forwards, this high aerodynamic quality of the rear shelf ensures you stay safe with no major tail outs.

I can see why the back window is scratched on it!  The rear wipe doesn't keep up does it?

Never had issues with visibility, the option to spray some screen wash down there usually does the trick to clear the back screen, have you found the rear screen wash switch? Its an easy one to come across.

Oh yes, had to find it today after having really muddy roads after tractors had dragged the mud out from fields.  I am going to change the blade I think as that will help maybe.

I did laugh though as cars back off you due to spray you kick up!

The Bosch ones are more expensive but are worth it. Valeo are quite good too.

Yes, Bosch ones.  The trade card works on anything car bits wise, so blades, lights etc!

When this set wear out, not long I expect, I'll be replacing them with silicon ones - for the slippery deposit they make on the screen they're worth it.

Won't help your back window though.  So far my best solution to this problem is to remove the rear window altogether.  I shower every day anyway.  Usually.

Cooo...maybe you could buy 1 a month and brng them down with you to the SmartFest in
September and sell them (for bit more than you paid for them) and make a few members 'happy'.

The Smart Festival happens once a year at Mercedes Benz World in Weybridge.
It is usually at the end of the first week in September.
Last years attendance of Smarts totalled more than 1400 cars !
We grabbed everyones attention with a 'convoy' of ForFours nose to tail into the place
lights on, horns blaring.....and because we went in 'en masse' we got all our cars together
in one place. The first time ever ! !   Oh and we had genuine Smart ForFour banners that
we put up too.
