2021....has there been any news if Ace cafe is on or when it will be back?

I've checked the website, and the next Smart meet at the Ace Café London
is 'pencilled in' for Saturday 13th November, starting at 11am.
I say 'pencilled in' as nothing is definite in these troubled Covid times.....

if it is going ahead, i say we do what we did at the last Smart Fest hosted at MB World, have a dedicated area where it is only 454's. iv been a couple of times and its a shame that there are only about 2-3 454 in the sea of fortwos, beit 450, 451 or 453

Barring work ( and other events that could be happening)- I expect to be there. The best way to get the 44's together would be to turn up at as near the same time as possible- maybe wait in the service road just outside?

That is/will be the only way you will be able to guarantee a group of 454's together.....
Meet up in the service road a little way up from the Café...
Between a specific time 'slot'...say 11.00-11.15,then roll in 'én mass'

OR we could meet at the ESSO fuel station not far from Ace, perhaps?
i would also like to suggest that we get there early so we can park in the car park at the cafe, as i know it gets full pretty quickly... again that is IF we are aloud to go to meets by then

seeing as leeds fest is going ahead (i can actually just hear the music from my house) im going to say that its been set in stone that ACE will go ahead.
who will be going, so the 454 owners can meet and convoy into the car park. i suggest the meeting point be the ESSO Park Royal just off the north circular on the southbound side (as ACE is on the northbound side.)

Assuming weather permits (as in not pouring down 'cats n dogs') then I should be there....
HOWEVER...for those arriving from the other direction (viz the south) then 'we' could
meet up in the slip road that is immediately to the left after one exits off the Hanger Lane
'gyratory' (roundabout) and heads towards The Ace.
I would suggest 'meeting' up a little way up that slip road as it may be a bit 'crowded/short
on space..as it can get busy on Saturdays.
I/we could then 'communicate' with members who are on the other side of the North Circular
at the ESSO garage and co-ordinate a combined drive into The Ace Café at an agreed time...
say 11.30 ?

A slight re-think MAY be required....by the time of the Ace meeting the latest changes
to the Mayor of London's Conjestion/ULEZ charging zone will active, which is that any
vehicle 'inside' the North Circular will be charged...and that Esso petrol station IS inside
that zone !
As I suggested in my earlier post, why not ALL owners from the South and the North
meet up on the 'old' North Circular Road ?
Those from South take the slip road immediately to the left as you come off the
Hanger Lane 'gyratory' (roundabout).....
Whilst those from the North take the usual off ramp of the A406 North Circular
(Abbey Road bridge), turn right at the top, go over the North Circular...BUT
instead of turning right to the Ace Café turn left, and meet up with the
'Southern 454's' that'll possibly be parked along the road ? (Assuming there are spaces)
However, if the old road is a bit choc-a-bloc then there is an industrial estate 'loop'
road (Abbeydale Road) that is off to the right by the side of the Wembley Travelodge Hotel..
I'm sure we could find some space/s around that 'loop' to all meet up ?

name the place of the meeting place along with a picture of the location from the all knowing Googles Maps and hopefully we can make an impact. dare i suggest getting there early enough to get parked right outside the front of the cafe?

It may be possible; if there's not a lot of vehicles parked; to meet up on
the old N.Circular Road rather than entering the Abbeydale Road one-way...
or more than likely a case of see how it is on the day. ;)

Yes it would be nice IF we could all roll up to the Café at 11am when the meet time
is scheduled to start...but for those travelling some distance it might not be so easy.
SO....would those intending to come please 'post up' on here ASAP so we'll have some
idea of numbers, AND...if you can make it for an 11am 'parade' of our 454's into the
meet....P L E A S E ;)
(I will obviously be attending as I have a few items to collect from mr singh +
a door grill to hand over to jmariog....plus there's a plate of chilli-cheese-on-chips
waiting for me with my name on it....LOL)

so far it appears 3 454s may have a pre meet meet. ill check back later this week to see if we have anymore attendees.

It could be 5x 454's...Me, mr singh, cecil, jmariog....
and maybe my daughter in her 454 AMT 1.3...frenchone.

there appears that there may be 5 other forfours at ACE this weekend after seeing a post on the Smart Forfour facebook page.
i, for some reason feel that the 453 forfour is more accepted than the 454 at meets.

Me thinks that is only because it looks similar to the 453 ForTwo....
Whatever the reason, it's still a Renault Twingo...whereas the 454 doesn't look a bit like a Colt.

A super time. It is great that events like this are opening up. Great to talk to other enthusiasts.

Twas good to meet up and see friends...and hope fully a sign that
we'll see more at the next Ace Cafe meet in April 2022.
I'm surprised so few of the many Forum members in the London &
surrounding areas NOT turn out for this meet....considering it didn't rain !

When all of this bull****t situation will cool down and my 454 will be "in Ordnung", it's an idea to test it on a long drive, all the way to the UK. One long road trip.

drove my old 1.1 from Leeds (UK) to Dillingen an der Donau (South Germany) with a boot full of luggage AND 2 passengers and it managed ok, so there is no need to worry.
