Yes, the advice is great and i always open my windows when i climb in, and drive for a short stretch with them open to get rid of the hot air. I usually keep mine at 22C and fan at 2. It automatically enables recirculation if it's not set to blow on the windscreen. But when it's scorching, or i have a black shirt on, i set it on 15C and crank the fan up.
ATM i'm experiencing some problems with my air-con. It only starts if i start it when i start the car up, and the engine temp is below 60C. Otherwise, the compressor doesn't start and it just blows air. AND when i start it like this, it works non-stop until all the pipes freeze up, and they block the fans path and it sounds like an airplane taking off, but no air gets in the car...
But temp in the car plummets immediately
