When Does Mivec Hit
« on: February 23, 2021, 08:04:47 PM »

Hey Guys, I'm loving my brabus!

In my colt I could tell when Mivec hits, but I cant seem to tell on the Brabus, do you know what RPM the Cam profile changes?
I cant find it noted anywhere!

Many thanks in advance

The cams are exactly the same in the Brabus and the Colt CZT, but
that's the subtlety and the brilliance of the changes that Brabus made
to the set-up of the 4G15 engine and the ECU, and as we all know they
got more power out of it than Mitsubishi did.
The changes they made to the mapping, such that it was more of a
controlled smooth linear change when the MIVEC came in, rather than
the 'bang' that you got and noticed with the Colt CZT.
I like/prefer subtle.....

i can only assume that it would be the same on both when MiVEC kicks in (YO) although as 'G' said brabus got hold of the map and altered it for the forfour so the power would be more linier and 'refined' as the forfour was sold as a premium option of the small car sector

i know on the N/A 1.5 it kicks in at 4000 rpm, more noticeable now that i have an 'active' exhaust fitted to my SB3 and about the same on the 1.1

Peak torque on the  Brabus occurs at 3800 rpm.
